- It remains to be seen if Maguire will continue with the Red Devils beyond this season following his struggles
Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has spoken about his frustrations at the club ahead of the summer transfer window.
Maguire has been widely linked with a possible Old Trafford exit this summer owing to his struggles this season under Erik ten Hag.
The English centre-back has struggled for regular playing time this term, with Ten Hag preferring the partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at the heart of his defence.
According to Metro UK, the former Leicester City defender was handed a rare Premier League start on the final day of the season as United stunned Fulham 2-1 to secure a third-place finish behind Arsenal and champions Manchester City.
However, it remains unclear if he will feature for United when they take on rivals City in the final of the FA Cup set for Saturday, June 3.
Maguire speaks on Man United future
Speaking while reflecting on the season that has been, Maguire hinted at continuing at Old Trafford next season despite his limited game time.
Whereas the England international admitted he is frustrated not to be playing as much, he was quick to concede there is growing competition for starting roles at the club.
"Listen, we have a lot of competition for places and that’s what a big club needs. Lots of strength in depth," Maguire said via Manchester Evening News.
"I think the manager and his staff can rely upon us and know that, if he makes changes, we can do the job, so it’s good to be part of this squad.
"I think if we’re going to be successful this season and next season and the season after, we’re going to need a big squad," he added.
