  • Borussia Dortmund are one win away from breaking Bayern Munich’s 10-straight Bundesliga streak
  • Dortmund at two points clear of Bayern and a win against Mainz 05 will guarantee their first title in 11 years
  • The fans are gearing up for the title celebrations and held a church service moments before the game

Bayern Munich fans are braced for the possibility of their team winning their first German Bundesliga title in 11 years today if they beat Mainz 05.

They are two points clear of Bayern Munich who have won the last 10 titles. The Black Yellow have put up a determined performance since the turn of the new year.

A win would see them piping their rivals by a point and having an advantage of a home game while Bayern Munich will travel to keep a date with FC Koln.

Dortmund fans hold church service

According to an official statement, they held a church service at Dreifaltigkeitskirche in Dortmund 30 minutes before kickoff as announced by the club and sang Liverpool's theme song You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The last time Borussia Dortmund won the title, Jurgen Klopp was the manager in 2012 and he is currently the manager of Liverpool, the song appears to be a tribute to the German.

They have been sent messages of support from former players and well-wishers around the world. Nuri Sahin, who played for both clubs has sent in his well-wish too.

In a bad development for Dortmund, they are down 2-0 at half-time while Bayern Munich are 2-0 ahead. Unless anything dramatic happens, Bayern will be champions.

Haaland sends message to Dortmund

Sports Brief reported Haaland sent a message to Dortmund ahead of their title-deciding game against Mainz 05 which is currently ongoing.

The Norwegian was named the Premier League Player and Young Player of the Year and even before acknowledging it on his social media pages, he sent a message to his former club.

Haaland lined up for the black and yellow for two and half seasons. He joined from RB Salzburg and currently plays for Manchester City in the English league.
