  • Borussia Dortmund are one win away from clinching their first Bundesliga title in 11 years
  • Bayern Munich’s sacking of Julian Nagelsmann for Thomas Tuchel could backfire
  • Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has spared a thought for his former club

Erling Haaland is keeping tabs with his former club Borussia Dortmund as they face a title-deciding match against Mainz 05 in the following hours.

They are two points ahead of Bayern Munich, who have won the last 10 German Bundesliga titles, and a win will see them lift the trophy for the first time in 11 years.

Bayern Munich’s sacking of Julian Nagelsmann appears to be backfiring as they have slipped up under the former Chelsea boss allowing BVB to take the lead.

According to New York Times, a win will confirm the Black Yellow as the German champions for the first time since winning two consecutive titles in 2011 and 2012 under Jurgen Klopp.

Haaland sends message to Dortmund

Former striker and current Manchester City star Haaland, who has scooped the Premier League title with City, send a message to his former club on Twitter.

According to Evening Standard, Haaland has also been named the Premier League Player of the Year and also picked up the Young Player of the Year in his first season in England.

The Norwegian moved to City after two-and-half years at the Signal Iduna Park for £51m, and his first season in English football is already a massive success bar a last-minute near-impossible miracle by Harry Kane, he will pick up the golden boot tomorrow.

He was not the only Dortmund player to move to Manchester in the summer. Swiss defender Manuel Akanji also joined Pep Guardiola’s side.

Dortmund fans held church service

Sports Brief reported that Dortmund fans held a church service ahead of their final game against Mainz 05, where victory will see them win the title.

They sang Liverpool’s theme song ''You’ll Never Walk Alone'' in what appears to be a tribute to the last manager to win them a title, Jürgen Klopp, who is the manager of Liverpool.
