FootballFerdinand Suggests Who Man United Should Sign Between Osimhen and Kane, Gives Reasons
- Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, who are also monitoring Harry Kane
- Both strikers have scored more than 20 goals for their respective clubs this season, and the stakes are high
- Rio Ferdinand has suggested that it could be difficult for Osimhen to adapt to the Premier League, while raising concerns over Kane's situation
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the Old Trafford to sign a top striker to challenge for the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils are in the market for a No.9, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen being heavily linked with the club.
Ferdinand warned that signing the Nigerian international could pose a risk, as he also shared his thoughts about Kane’s situation at Tottenham.
Kane has entered the final year of his contract with Spurs, meaning he could be priced away from the Tottenham Stadium.
The England striker will miss out on the Champions League next season; Osimhen led Napoli to the Serie A title and will be in the European competition.
The pair have scored more than 20 goals for their respective clubs, attracting interest from other teams as well. Ferdinand said via his Five YouTube Channel:
“There are two names that keep coming up – Osimhen from Napoli and Harry Kane. Ultimately, it is down to Kane and (Tottenham chairman) Daniel Levy.
"If they both say 'yes, we want to make it happen', I think Man Utd get it done. The numbers can’t be ridiculous, Levy's got to be realistic. They've got blood, sweat, tears, records, goals, the lot out of Harry Kane.
"Osimhen is a different kettle of fish. "He’s been a No.9 at a dominant team in the football league. Is that transferable to the Premier League? No one knows that. That’s the chance United would have to take on him.

Football"That’s the only risk I see. He doesn’t know the league - that's it. Ability wise and profile, goalscoring, he ticks every box, but there is an unknown factor in does he know how to play in the Premier League? Can he adapt to the Premier League?”
Smalling hails Osimhen
Sports Brief earlier reported that former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has disclosed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is pretty difficult to defend against.
The AS Roma defender has had some embarrassing moments in Italy a few times and has made 30 league appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side this season.
Smalling disclosed that defending against Osimhen is difficult because of his speed and strength.
