- Brighton snapped Manchester City's winning run in style in an entertaining game at home
- Julio Enciso claimed one of the most astounding goals in the history of the Premier League
- Pep Guardiola is said to be a fan of the 19-year-old who is having a great campaign so far
Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in Brighton's attacking midfielder, Julio Enciso.
Enciso has burst into the scene this season under Roberto De Zerbi and put on a show for Guardiola with a beautiful strike against the champions on May 24.
The Paraguayan was in from the start as the Seagulls looked to cement their status in Europa League football next season.
It is the first time in Brighton's history that they have qualified for European football and a draw against City would have guaranteed a place in the second-fiddle European competition.
The champions started the game brightly despite partying late into the night on Sunday after winning the Premier League trophy.
Brighton responded and soon took the game to City's doorstep with a scintillating goal-to-goal action.
Phil Foden opened the scoring from an Erling Haaland assist before Kaoru Mitoma had a goal disallowed and Danny Welbeck hit the woodwork with his free kick.
Enciso's wonderful goal
Minutes later, Enciso took the ball from a wonderful run from Levi Colwill and prodded forward with intent.
Man City players were slow to close him down and the 19-year-old gladly accepted the invitation to let his shot fly from way out.
This time around, Brighton were not to be denied as the ball whizzed past the outstretched arms of Stefan Ortega into the top corner.
The technique, the shot power, the accuracy, and the precision - that goal had everything. It could easily become this season's goal of the season.
Kyle Walker cautioned Vinicius not to try rainbow-flick again in UCL clash
FootballBefore the game, Guardiola had name-dropped Enciso as one of the exciting talents coming through Brighton's system.
The Mirror claims the Spanish manager is interested in the Paraguayan and his teammate, Alexis Mac Allister as the futures of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan remain shrouded in uncertainty.
Enciso's goal versus Chelsea
The youngster is not new to scoring worldies, Sports Brief has reported, with Enciso's strike against Chelsea last month worthy of winning any game.
The Brighton & Hove Albion star's thunderbolt of a shot from outside the box left Blues goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga with no chance of a save.
The goal came from an unlikely source as Enciso, who replaced Joel Veltman at half-time, scored a screamer in the 69th minute from a Reece James error.
