FootballOsimhen Ignites Bayern Munich Rumours After Being Spotted in Berlin
- Victor Osimhen helped Napoli to their first Italian Serie A in 33 years
- The Nigerian’s exploits have made him a subject of stronger interest from top European clubs
- He has fuelled the rumours that Bayern Munich are leading the race for his signature with a trip to Berlin
Victor Osimhen could be set to leave Napoli this summer after helping the club to their first Serie A title since the 1989/90 season.
The Nigerian joined Napoli in 2020 from the French club Lille. It took him time to settle in Italy, but his exploits this season have made him a fan favourite.
He was one of Luciano Spalletti’s central men as they secured the Scudetto with five games to go when they drew 1-1 away at Udinese, a match Osimhen scored the only goal.
The former Royal Charleroi striker is in the running for the golden boot award with 22 goals and is also one of the leading candidates for the Player of the Season.
Osimhen spotted in Berlin
German newspaper Bild today published a picture of the U17 World champion in Berlin, fuelling speculations he is set for a transfer to Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians are one of the clubs interested in the Nigerian forward, who Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has quoted an asking price of €150m for.
Football Italia quotes German journalist Christian Falk claiming the trip has nothing to do with a possible transfer as the Bundesliga giants consider him too expensive.
SportBible reports that Osimhen’s girlfriend Stefanie Ladewig could be influential in his next move as she favours a return to German, where he had previously played for Wolfsburg.
Enrique considered for Napoli’s job
Sports Brief reported that former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is being considered for Napoli’s job in case title-winning manager Luciano Spalletti departs.
Multiple reports that the 64-year-old has expressed his intention to leave the club to De Laurentiis at a dinner weeks ago after his relationship with the filmmaker broke down.
The fear that the club would cash in on some of his stars, including Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-jae, contributed to his decision to quit Naples.
