Valencia are ready to challenge the Spanish Football Federation’s decision to sanction the club after Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior was racially abused by their fans.
The La Liga club were hit with a five-game partial Stadium closure after the RFEF ordered the closure of the Mario Kempes stand at the Mestalla Stadium following the incident.
According to 90MIN, Valencia says that the sanctions imposed by the Spanish FA are disproportionate and unfair and will now appeal the verdict at the appeals committee.
The six-time La Liga winners insist it is wrong for the FA to punish everyone for the crimes of a few, as they maintained that not all in the stands were guilty of the racist attacks on Vinicius Junior.
Valencia will be without fans at the Mario Kempes stand for their final home game this season and their first four matches of the 2023/24 season except if the ban is overturned.
