New footage making the rounds on the internet has shown supporters of Valencia taunting Vinicius Junior hours before their La Liga match with Real Madrid on Sunday, May 21.
The Real Madrid winger reportedly endured racial abuse from Valencia fans both prior to and during Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Los Che.
The said game has since gained global attention, owing to the reported racial abuse from some Valencia fans at the Mestalla Stadium.
Since then, Vinicius has garnered an outpouring of support from prominent football figures and global leaders, urging La Liga to take firm actions against the club as a deterrent to others, according to BBC.
In response to Sunday's racial incident, six referees who were on VAR duty for the Real Madrid vs. Valencia game have been dismissed, and Spanish police have arrested four individuals for allegedly displaying an effigy of Vini Jr., Al Jazeera reports.
While efforts have been intensified to nip racism in Spanish football in the bud, a video, seen by Sports Brief, of Valencia racially abusing Vinicius two hours before kickoff has since surfaced on social media.
