Vinicius Junior was knocked over by a second ball on the field during Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat at Valencia on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was left baffled when attacking down the left flank in the 68th minute.
The electrifying Brazilian flew down the wing and looked set to beat Valencia right-back, Dimitri Foulquie for pace.
Eray Comert, the opposing center-back, noticed a second ball on the field that was in the penalty area as the South American star drew near the edge of the box.
The Valencia player kicked the dead ball at Vinicius after spotting the danger posed by the leaping Real Madrid star, taking the live ball out of play, as Sport Bible reported.
The incident also knocked the Brazilian star to the ground, but he later stood back up to argue with the referee.
Vinicius suffers abuse from Valencia
Vinicius pointed to a supporter behind the goal shortly after the incident with the two balls after he allegedly endured racial taunts, Goal reported.
Before a wild confrontation in stoppage time resulted in the Brazilian's dismissal following a VAR review, the game was briefly suspended.

Meanwhile, Vini Junior has slammed La Liga, calling out Spain as a 'country of racists' after the Real Madrid winger was subjected to another heckling during his side's league game against Valencia.
The Brazilian star endured racist chants from the crowd and later engaged in a confrontation with Hugo Duro, resulting in tension that required intervention from teammates to restrain him.
After experiencing racism on numerous occasions during this La Liga campaign, the enraged winger expressed his utter frustration on Twitter, referring to Spain as 'a nation plagued by racism'.
