Manchester City stars had to be guided off after jubilant fans invaded the pitch at the Etihad Stadium moments before the Premier League title presentation.
City were presented with the prestigious trophy on Sunday, May 21, after their 1-0 win over visiting Chelsea.
The presentation came after a day when they were declared the 2022/23 Premier League champions following Arsenal's 1-0 humbling defeat against Nottingham Forest.
This season's title race appeared on course to go down the wire, only for the Citizens to successfully defend the crown with three games to spare.
According to The Guardian, the Gunners' defeat against Nottingham meant they stood no chance mathematically to beat City to the title.
Man City fans invade pitch
City, therefore, had to wait until their Sunday clash against Chelsea to officially be crowned the champions.
Talksport reports that overjoyed City fans ran onto the pitch in celebration shortly after the final whistle, sparking a brief, tense moment.
The publication reports that Man City stars, including Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, had to be guided by the tunnel as fans spilt over onto the turf.
Fortunately, normalcy was restored as the fans returned to their seats to allow preparation for the trophy presentation to begin.

Haaland was once again the centre of attraction during Man City's Premier League trophy presentation.
The Norwegian hotshot was involved in a heartwarming moment with City fans as he was caught on camera leaving an on-pitch interview to join supporters in dance.
Talksport reports that Sky Sports had managed to get hold of the striker for an interview before the incident happened.
