Firmino scored his 110th goal for Liverpool on Saturday, May 20, and it proved to be an important one as it salvaged a 1-1 draw against a resurgent Aston Villa side.
The goal may well have been Firmino’s last ever for Liverpool, as he was warmly appreciated by The Kop for his services as a Liverpool player over the last six years.
In a video that is doing rounds on social media, an emotional Firmino is seen crying as he is applauded by Liverpool fans in what was a powerful moment for the two parties.
The Brazilian was consoled by his countryman Alisson Becker as well as Darwin Nunez, before taking one final lap as he was being serenaded by fans.
Firmino is not the only Liverpool star whose time at Anfield comes to an end. As reported on Liverpool Echo, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner are all also set to leave the club at the end of the season.
