  • Harry Kane was on the score sheet once again as Tottenham succumbed to defeat against Brentford
  • The North Londoners are now in danger of missing out on a European place altogether
  • But Kane, despite his team’s misgivings, set another personal milestone with his goal

Tottenham striker Harry Kane got himself into the record books once again thanks to his goal against Brentford on Saturday, May 20.

Kane gave his side the lead in the first half with a brilliant goal from 25 yards after Dejan Kulusevski flicked a free kick.

This was the England striker’s 30th goal across all competitions and it was a significant one on a personal level as it marked a unique landmark.

With his goal Kane became the first player in 25 different matches in a 38-game league season.

In comparison, Manchester City star Erling Haaland, who is the Premier League’s top scorer, has scored 36 goals from 23 different fixtures.

Magical Kane can’t inspire Spurs

Tottenham fans certainly know what Harry Kane brings to the club as they celebrated him using a brilliant mural outside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Despite Harry Kane’s brilliance, there is only so much the 29-year old can do in a Tottenham team that is in shambles.

Now under their third manager this season in the form of Ryan Mason, Spurs succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against a brilliant Brentford, who turned the game on its had in the second half after Harry Kane’s stunner.

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo , who came in for the banned Ivan Toney, struck two brilliant goal in the second half, while Yoane Wissa wrapped things up late on, as reported on BBC.

A fifth defeat in seven leaves Tottenham in danger of getting knocked off European places altogether, while Brentford continued their superb campaign under Thomas Frank.
