FootballSprint Legend Usain Bolt Admits Marcus Rashford Would Beat Him in a 20 Metres Race
- Usain Bolt has given an honest assessment of how a sprint race between him and Marcus Rashford would pan out
- Bolt is a known Manchester United fan and has watched the club play in person a couple of times
- Rashford's stellar form after the World Cup break seems to have slowed down in recent weeks
Retired multiple Olympic and World Champion Usain Bolt has revelled in Marcus Rashford's blistering pace, admitting that the Manchester United star would floor him in a 20 metres race.
Bolt, who retired in 2017 after dominating sprint races, is a staunch Manchester United fan and recently attended their FA Cup game against Fulham at Old Trafford.
Rashford, meanwhile, has been Erik ten Hag's standout player this season but is currently undergoing a rough patch of form. The England international has a devastating pace which he uses to terrorize defences.
Speaking to the club's website, Bolt was asked who would win in a short dash between him and Rashford. The Jamaican admitted Rashford would beat him in the first 30 or 30 metres but he would eventually trounce him.
"I think Rashy might have me over 20 metres, max maybe 30 because, as footballers, you train to be really quick, explosive. But not further than that."
During his running days, the 36-year-old struggled to get out of the blocks but once he hit his stride, very few sprinters could match his acceleration.
He won 8 Gold Olympic medals and a further 11 Gold medals in the World Athletics Championships.
Manchester United play Bournemouth on April 20, a game Rashford is expected to miss, as reported by Sky Sports.

FootballSports Brief reported that the fleet-footed forward, who moved to the Yellow and Blacks from RB Salzburg in the summer of 2022, has been clocked at a time of 3.60 seconds over 30 metres.
By comparison, Jamaican sprint king, Usain Bolt covered the same distance in 3.78 seconds when breaking the 100-metre world record in 2009.
