FootballManchester City’s Bernardo Silva Bluntly Told It Will Be A 'Huge Mistake' If He Joins PSG
- Man City's Bernardo Silva has been advised against joining PSG
- He recently inspired Man City to a resounding 4-0 win over Real Madrid as Pep Guardiola’s men close in on their treble dream
- But reports indicate that Silva wants to leave Manchester City in the coming summer
Bernardo Silva has been warned against considering a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Silva has been a stand-out player for Manchester City, who are on the brink of winning the treble this season - the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
The Portugal international was a star performer in City's Champions League semi-final second-leg clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday, bagging a brace to inspire the Citizens into their second European final in three seasons, as reported by talkSPORT.
He has since appeared on the radar of Barcelona and PSG, flirting with the idea of leaving Etihad as his future with the Premier League leaders hangs in the balance.
However, former PSG winger Jerome Rothen has urged Silva not to join the Parisians, explaining it will be a 'huge mistake' due to the club owners' philosophy which he believes does not suit the player's style.
"Bernardo Silva would make a huge mistake if he came only for economic reasons and living environment. I am sure that PSG will sign him because he is a star," he told RMC Sport as quoted by GOAL.
Rothen also heaped praise on Bernardo's qualities:
"He [Bernardo Silva] plays for his teammates, he knows how to finish, he is intelligent. He really is the player who best reflects what Guardiola wants to put on the field. He has it all. This player has class.
"The president or the emir are not supposed to be concerned with building a team. They decide to sign names. They love Bernardo Silva, especially with the game he played on Wednesday. It is not a money problem for them. They don't want Bernardo Silva for collective construction."

Messi has had an inspiring two seasons with the Parisians since joining the club from Barcelona in 2021 but wants to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.
PSG are ready to battle Barcelona for the signature of Silva, who is prepared to leave Manchester City this summer for a new challenge outside of England.
