- His side beat Boltnon Wanderers to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory for a place in the final
It is not every day you get to see a manager sipping on a beer while doing a post-match interview.
This is what happened on Friday, May 19 after Barnsley manager Michael Duff guided his side to a 2-1 aggregate victory over Bolton Wanderers.
They came into the game with the tie deadlocked at 1-1 from the first leg and despite Bolton enjoying the lion’s share of possession, it was The Tykes that got the all-important goal on the night.
It came courtesy of Liam Kitching, whose header from Luca Connell's arcing cross found the back of the net to swing the tie into Barnsley’s favour.
In truth, Barnsley deserve to be in the play off final, after spending 205 days in the top six.
And their manager was in dreamland after the win over Bolton, that he decided not even a post match interview would get in the way of him enjoying a beer, as reported on Sunsport.
While speaking to a BBC reporter, Duff took some moments to take sips from a bottle of Stella.
“The lads will have two days off now but I’ve just told them, make no mistake, I’ll be after you on Monday.” He said in the interview.
The Tykes will now come up against Sheffield Wednesday in the final on Monday, May 21 for a place in the Championship.

Peterborough looked on course for the final after a 4-0 win in the first leg, but the determination of Wednesday overpowered their initial loss.
