Lionel Messi could have a new club in the running for his signature this summer as his Argentine teammate German Pezzella has offered the 35-year-old to Real Betis.
Messi’s future has been up in the air recently after it emerged the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain after two seasons with the Ligue 1 giants.
According to Sportskeeda, Pezzella who won the 2022 FIFA World Cup alongside Messi with Argentina, jokingly insisted Real Betis will be happy to have him play for them next season.
“Betis open the door for him, we have no problem. If he wants to come, we'll see. It would also be important for Spain because of everything he attracts.”
Messi joined PSG in 2021 but the Argentina captain has turned down an offer to extend his deal with the French champions with Barcelona and Al-Hilal interested in signing the forward as a free agent.

Meanwhile, Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandes is ecstatic about the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to the Catalan club two years after leaving for Paris Saint-Germain, Barca Universal reports.
Xavi already has special plans in case Messi returns to Camp Nou as he has created some tactical plans to incorporate the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner into the current Barcelona setup.
Xavi plans to use Messi as a creative force rather than a source of goals as Barcelona are viewing the Argentina captain as more of a fourth midfielder.

Messi has had an inspiring two seasons with the Parisians since joining the club from Barcelona in 2021 but wants to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.
PSG are ready to battle Barcelona for the signature of Silva, who is prepared to leave Manchester City this summer for a new challenge outside of England.
