  • Chelsea legend John Terry is celebrating his twins on their 17th birthday
  • He gifted Georgie and Summer matching Mercedes-Benzes on the special day
  • He also stirred controversy by uploading a pic of the teens behind the wheel

John Terry is causing a stir online after gifting matching Mercedes-Benzes to his twins, Georgie and Summer, to mark their 17th birthday.

The Chelsea legend has been fine-tuning his coaching skills since retiring from Aston Villa in 2018, assisting former Villa boss, Dean Smith at the Midlands club.

He spent most of his playing career at Chelsea, being the most successful captain in the club's history and arguably one of the greatest to wear the club’s shirt.

According to Mirror UK, Terry, 42, has been tipped to be a future Chelsea boss.

Fans clamoured for him to join Frank Lampard last month before he opted to link up with Smith at Leicester City.

Terry is making waves on social media after he took to Instagram to celebrate his twins. He uploaded a picture of their cakes and matching Mercedes-Benz cars, which he gifted them.

According to US News Cars, the cars, believed to be plush Mercedes A-Class AMG Line Premium Plus models, cost in the region of £37,000 to £40,000. This means Terry splashed almost £80,000 for the special occasion.

He added an extra bit of controversy to the post with a video of the teens, who were underage at that time, behind a steering wheel. They appeared to be driving, which is an offence anywhere in the world.

Terry forced to sell car

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Chelsea captain, Denis Wise forced Terry to sell his car when the youngster first broke onto the scene at the club.

The Blues legend claimed he used his first Champions League bonus to get a nice pair of wheels and drove it to training, but was challenged in the parking lot.

Wise ensured Terry returned the car and later took him around to buy a house. The Chelsea legend called this one of the best pieces of advice he had ever received.
