FootballManchester City Fans Hit Poznan Celebration After Militao’s Own Goal Against Madrid
- Manchester City demolished Real Madrid 4-0 to progress to the Champions League final
- The Cityzens put up a dominant performance against the lacklustre European powerhouse
- City fans got bored of the game after the third goal
Manchester City outclassed Real Madrid so much that the English fans became uninterested in the rest of the game after the third goal.
It was a dominant performance that put Real Madrid to the sword and ended all hopes of a record-extending 15th Champions League trophy.
Two goals from Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva in the first half put the game in the hands of the English champions and made it an uphill task for Madrid.
A second-half own goal from Brazilian defender Eder Militao put it beyond the grasp of Madrid, before World Cup-winner Julian Alvarez added the fourth after coming on for Erling Haaland.
City fans humiliate Madrid
There had been talks of City fans acting too elite and not getting behind their team with a proper atmosphere at the Etihad Stadium, but last night was different.
The stadium was packed and loud from start to finish, with City's white and blue colours displayed all over the seats ahead of kickoff.
The fans made their presence felt and after the third goal, they hit the famous Poznan celebration. They rose from their seats, turned their backs, embraced, and jumped up and down, as if to say, 'We do not care about the remainder of the game', as spotted by ESPN.
It was not the first time this season that they have done this, but to do it against powerhouse Real Madrid on a European night is something special.
1,000 goals under Guardiola
Sports Brief reported that Manchester City have scored 1,000 goals under Guardiola since he took over the reins at the Etihad Stadium in 2016.
Man City close in on Premier League coronation, Chelsea end losing streak
FootballAcademy graduate Phil Foden’s goal against West Ham to make the scoreline 3-0 was the 1000th goal, a befitting candidate for the honour.
They are now a step closer to the only trophy that has eluded the Spaniard in his time at Manchester - they enter their second UCL final in two years.
