- Gary Neville blames Thomas Partey for Arsenal's title collapse
- The Ghanaian lost his form at the crucial time of the PL season
- Partey has since lost a starting position at Arsenal to Jorginho
Former Manchester United and England defender, Gary Neville believes Thomas Partey's loss of form at a crucial time in the season affected Arsenal's title ambitions.
The Ghanaian international had a poor run of games, which saw Arsenal drop points in the games against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton.
Partey lost his position to Jorginho and has not started in the Gunners' last three matches.
According to Neville, the Black Stars man failed to show up at the critical moments.
"He’s been in a shadow of himself in the last few weeks, Partey," said Neville, as quoted by Metro.
"He has been nowhere near it. A large part of the season, he has been fantastic. His form and composure have deserted him at the most vital time."
Arsenal lost to Brighton over the weekend, giving Manchester City the edge with a game in hand.
The Citizens could win the league if they beat Chelsea in their next game, extending the Gunners' 20-year wait for the Premier League title.
However, Arsenal are making a return to the UEFA Champions League after a six-year absence from Europe's elite competition.
