No love was lost between Fernando Torres and former Liverpool teammate, Alvaro Arbeloa, after the stars clashed during a Spanish youth cup game.

Torres, who now manages Atletico Madrid, was involved in a scuffle with Arbeloa after his side was dumped out of the competition by their city rivals, Real Madrid in a 4-2 defeat.

According to Football Espana, the former Chelsea striker was angered by Arbeloa’s conduct and pushed him, before allegedly threatening to 'blow his head off' in an angry exchange.

Torres was eventually shown a red card for his conduct by the centre referee, much to the delight of the Real Madrid supporters in the stand.

Atletico fightback not good enough

Atletico Madrid put up a fierce fightback in a Champions Cup Juvenil A quarter-final second leg at the Valdebebas, but it was not good enough to earn a spot in the next round, Marca reports.

Torres' young charges, who lost the first leg 2-0 to their city rivals, scored twice in normal time to force the quarter-final tie into extra time.

However, Real Madrid killed the game off in extra time after scoring two goals to secure a 4-2 aggregate win and progress to the semi-finals of the cup competition.
