FootballChelsea Owners Admit They Made Mistake in Sacking Thomas Tuchel After Disastrous Season
- Chelsea owners have accepted they made a mistake in dismissing Thomas Tuchel so quickly
- The strong fan favourite was sacked just 15 months after winning the Champions League title
- Tuchel's sacking was among the series of self-admitted errors committed by the new owners
Chelsea's owners have reportedly admitted they made a mistake in sacking Thomas Tuchel in their maiden season in England.
Tuchel was relieved of his duties after just seven games in charge after the Todd Boehly-led Clearlake consortium bought the club from the embattled oligarch, Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea had begun the season in poor fashion, with the 1-0 loss away to Dinamo Zagreb in early September proving to be the German's final game in charge.
However, Boehly has in the past admitted that Tuchel wasn't sacked for his on-field performances.

Why did Chelsea sack Tuchel?
The American apparently wanted a manager whom he could engage with on matters of policy and transfers within the club, which Tuchel is said to have been uncomfortable with.
Under Abramovich, this was solely the purview of director, Marina Granovskaia and club legend, Petr Cech, as reported by Bleacher Report.
Chelsea moved in quickly to pay off Brighton & Hove Albion for the services of Graham Potter. Despite starting well, the Englishman found the going tough before he was finally sacked in April.
As Goal reports, Chelsea's owners have now admitted that sacking Tuchel and hiring Potter immediately was not the best call of action.
However, they have insisted the German manager had to go - one way or another - but also ceded they should not have rushed the process to allow for an easier transition of command.
Tuchel has since joined Bayern Munich.
Man Utd face nervy end to season as problems mount
FootballThe self-confessed mistake has cost the Blues - they are poised to record their worst-ever finish in the Premier League since 1996, having missed the latter stages of any competition this year and lost any chance to compete in Europe next season.
Chelsea set to hire Pochettino?
Sports Brief has also reported that Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea's new manager is all but official, with the club said to have reached an agreement for his takeover next season.
It is believed to be a matter of when and not if, as far as an official announcement is concerned, as multiple reports claim talks have been in advanced stages from as far back as April.
While it is not certain what length of deal the Argentine manager will receive, more details about Pochettino taking over at Stamford Bridge are expected to be revealed in due course.
