FootballThiago Silva Sends Message to Chelsea for His Banners at Stamford Bridge
- Thiago Silva instantly became a fan favourite at Chelsea when he joined in 2020
- The veteran defender has been central to the team’s success despite his age
- Match-going fans hoisted a banner for him at Stamford Bridge ahead of the game against Nottingham
Thiago Silva is a grateful man after Chelsea fans made a banner for him, unveiled at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
The Brazilian joined the Blues in the summer of 2020, a window Chelsea made eight signings under Frank Lampard, the current caretaker manager.
He had a few working months with Lampard before his first departure, and Thomas Tuchel took over. The German’s arrival was a blessing to Silva, as he won the only trophies left to complete his club career.
He has remained a key figure in the team this season in a turbulent season that has seen at least four managers take charge of at least a game, with Mauricio Pochettino set to take over next season, according to The Telegraph.

Silva’s message to Chelsea fans
Chelsea’s season is over, with nothing left to play for. With 43 points and three games left, they have avoided relegation and can start preparing for next season early.
The fans, however, are taking the time to applaud some players who have stood over the years by unveiling banners for them at the stadium.
Ex-boss Tuchel and academy graduates Mason Mount and Reece James are previous beneficiaries of the gesture, and now it is the turn of the veteran, Thiago Silva.
He took to his social media pages to issue an appreciation for the gesture and the support given to his family over the years.
Some fans took the message as a goodbye after recent speculations Silva would return to his former club, Fluminense, at the end of the season, but he denied the claims via Metro UK.
