  • Arsenal will be without William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko for the rest of the season
  • Both players are sidelined with injuries, with Zinchenko picking a calf injury against Newcastle last Sunday
  • The Gunners have three matches to end the season and are set to face Brighton in their next fixture

However, The Sun reports that Arteta will have to do without them as the Gunners head into the final EPL run-in.

The publication reports that the pair has been ruled out with season-ending injuries, with Saliba yet to recover from an injury he suffered back in March during a Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon.

Zinchenko, meanwhile, is understood to have hurt his calf during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League last Sunday.

Both players have featured 33 times for the Gunners across competitions this season, meaning Arteta will have to look elsewhere for the run-in.

Who will replace Saliba and Zinchenko?

Scottish defender Kieran Tierney is in line to replace Zinchenko at the back, while Rob Holding has been holding brief for Saliba at the heart of Arsenal's defence.

However, Holding could still face competition for a starting role from Jakub Kiwior, who has started the last two games against Chelsea and Newcastle.

According to Football London, Arsenal are scheduled to face Brighton in their next Premier League fixture against Brighton on Sunday, May 14.

They will then take on Nottingham Forest before winding up their campaign with a home clash against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta speaks on Xhaka speculation

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has addressed Granit Xhaka's future at the Emirates Stadium.

Reports claim Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen are preparing an offer in the region of £15million for the midfielder.

Xhaka has played an important role in Arsenal's unprecedented Premier League title bid this season.
