The Golden Eaglets started the match impressively as they fired on all cylinders looking for an early goal, but they will have themselves to blame for not to have scored at least two goals in the first 20 minutes.

Those missed chances cost the team dearly.

Burkina Faso takes the lead

Burkina Faso players shocked Nigerian fans when they took the lead in the 45th minute through Aboubacar Camara who benefitted from a defensive error.

In the 57th minute, Camara extended Burkina Faso's lead via a penalty after Diallo was brought down in the box.

Abubakar Abdullahi pulled one back for the Golden Eaglets in the 67th minute.

Golden Eaglets tried all they could to restore parity, but they were unable to get it as they eventually lost the game 2-1.
