Two family members of former Super Eagles midfielder Wilson Oruma have disclosed that some fraudsters made money from fans over the rumours surrounding the health status of the 46-year-old.
In April, there was a video that went viral on social media where Oruma was seen on the hospital bed snoring with drips on his hand.
Countless numbers of Nigerians home and abroad were not happy with the video and they started sending their prayers and well wishes to the ex-footballer.
To the surprise of many, Oruma came out days later to deny being sick claiming that the viral video was when he was ill six years ago.

That clarification by Oruma according to a report on Soccernet cleared the air on the speculation.
However, Saharareporters spoke to Oruma's sister, Pastor Maureen Atie who rubbished the report on Wilson being ill.

"That story was not correct; when he was not feeling fine was over six years ago. Some people were using that to collect money from people. Some had already given them money.''
Oruma's brother, Mr. Dominic Oruma also claimed that the fraudsters got away with big money from fans.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Former Super Eagles star Wilson Oruma rubbished reports claiming that he has been battling with health issues in a hospital with the 46-year-old confirming that there is nothing wrong with him.

FootballMany Nigerian football fans were shocked when photos of Oruma bedridden in an unknown hospital emerged on social media last week. There was serious tension as fans were worried about his safety.
There was also a video on the internet showing a man who looked like Oruma being administered intravenous fluids on a sick bed.
Oruma stated clearly that he is not sick suggesting that he does not know why people want him dead.
