Barcelona are set to be hit with another major financial blow, with the Spanish tax authorities handing the club a hefty €15.7 million fine.
Spanish tax authorities are said to have come down heavily on the Catalan club after the treasury found them guilty of not accurately disclosing the compensation received by Alex Song (€3.5 mil) and Arda Turan (€1.3 mil) after their contracts were mutually terminated.
Also, the La Liga giants have also allegedly been found in the wrong for not declaring the cost of loaning Audi vehicles to their players and costs incurred on chartered flights, according to Goal.
This represents a further blow to the club’s bank balance, with Barcelona trying to raise €200 mil this summer in order not to fall foul of their current wage limit and sustain their credibility, as the The Athletic reports.

The new case is running concurrently with the Negreira case, which has seen investigations into allegations the club made payments to former vice-president of the Spanish referring body, Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.
While this will further propagate claims that Barcelona have been breaking rules, current president, Joan Laporta will undoubtedly point to the fact that this occurred under his predecessor, Josep Maria Bartomeu.
