The team were 1-0 down at half-time. The Special One gave an inspiring team talk to the young players at half-time, which spurred them to victory, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The team came back in the second half with two goals to secure a 2-1 victory. It was not the first time the Portuguese manager had attended the youth games at Stadio Tre Fontane.
