Football pundits, Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher had a back-and-forth over where Kevin De Bruyne ranks among the greats of the game after his performance against Real Madrid.
De Bruyne started alongside Erling Haaland in Manchester City's attack against Madrid. While the Norwegian striker had a quiet evening, the Belgian put up a man-of-the-match display.
According to Goal, he scored Manchester City's only goal from a booming effort. The goal did spark controversy after Bernardo Silva controlled the ball after it had gone out of play.

Speaking on CBS Sports after the game, Henry lauded De Bruyne as the best football mind he had ever seen because of what he does in some situations.

"I think Kevin, his brain is the best that I've seen. Because his brain, in some places I don't know what he thinks about sometimes in all fairness. You look at him and it is like he is not with us, it can almost be a problem because you are not on his level," Henry said.
The French legend also named the Belgian as the cleverest player he had ever seen.
"It is just second to none, the way that he thinks."
Carragher did not exactly disagree but claimed De Bruyne needs to win the Champions League to cement his status among the all-time greats.
"If he could be the man who takes them to the Champions League, the treble, it elevates him. We are not questioning his ability, but we always judge players in the biggest moments, the biggest tournaments," Carragher said.
