The England international has been one of City's most improved players this season. He initially struggled to get into Pep Guardiola's team after making the big money switch from Aston Villa in 2021.

His improved performances have seen him become a regular in the Citizens' starting lineup with his off-field friendship with Erling Haaland coming in handy.

Grealish vs Real Madrid

On May 9, he had altercations with Real Madrid's fullback Dani Carvajal - a scene that's most likely to occur again next week.

Speaking after the game, the 27-year-old shared what his mother told him before the game.

“I had a text from my mum before the game saying; ‘These are the nights you dreamed of as a kid,’ and it’s true. Playing in the Champions semi-final in a stadium like, that everyone in the world was probably watching, sometimes you pinch yourself,” as quoted by Football Tweet.

Grealish and his teammates will now turn their attention to their Premier League clash against Everton as they seek to win a third consecutive title.

Courtois sure Real Madrid will progress

Sports Brief has also reported that Thibaut Courtois is optimistic about the chances of Real Madrid progressing to the final of this season's UEFA Champions League ahead of his side's second-leg semi-final clash with Manchester City. Vinicius Junior and Kevin De Bruyne traded breathtaking goals as Real Madrid and Man City shared the spoils in the first leg of their semi-final blockbuster at the Bernabeu.

Madrid shot-stopper Courtois, who pulled off some stupendous saves, is confident his side will have the last laugh regardless of Man City's impregnable home record.
