Five-time Champions League winner, Luka Modric has confirmed he will be extending his contract with the defending European champions for one more season.
Modric, who is set to enter his 12th season at Real Madrid, joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 for a fee in the region of £30 million.
Despite his shaky start to life at Los Blancos, the Croat has since put the bad patch behind him and is now regarded as one of the finest players in the history of the club.
Regardless of his age, 37-year-old Modric remains an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Following Real Madrid's Copa Del Rey triumph over Osasuna, the veteran confirmed his intentions to stay at the club, according to AS:

“My idea is to continue here at Real Madrid, for sure. This club is my whole life; Real Madrid is my whole life,” he said.
Though Modric is still in decent form, Real Madrid have taken the bold step of preparing youngsters who would serve as long-term replacements for the Ballon d’Or winner.

The English youngster is on the radar of the Spanish giants, with his potential signing casting significant doubt over Modric's future at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, due to a potential lack of game time next season.
