- Haaland has scored an eyewatering 51 goals for the Citizens, with 35 of those in the Premier League
- Los Blancos will host Pep Guardiola’s side in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at Santiago Bernabéu
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has outlined how he will try to deal with Erling Haaland when his side lock horns against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
When the Citizens played Los Blancos at the same stage of the competition last year, Pep Guardiola's side appeared to be headed for the final as Riyad Mahrez made it 5-3 on aggregate.
However, ESPN reports that two late goals from Brazil star Rodrygo forced the game to extra time.
Karim Benzema's 95th-minute goal secured a place in the final for Carlo Ancelotti's men vs Liverpool, which they eventually won 1-0.

And now the Premier League leaders are back at the Bernabeu after a year with the goal of vanquishing their demons.
Haaland's impact
Since Real Madrid and Manchester City met in last year's semifinal, the English giants have added Haaland to their squad.
The Norwegian will try to build on his 51 goals this season in Madrid, of which 12 have come in the Champions League, Sky Sports reported.
The 22-year-old has been signed to address criticism that City's second-leg loss to Madrid in the final four lacked finishing.
City were criticised for the lack of deft finishing in the second leg of last year’s last four loss to Madrid and Haaland has been brought in to solve that.
Ancelotti on Haaland
Although Ancelotti acknowledged the threat Haaland would pose, the Italian emphasised it is not just the striker that makes City “unstoppable” at the moment.

FootballAncelotti said, via ESPN:
“He’s very dangerous. He’s incredibly impressive when it comes to scoring goals, that’s obvious. Talking about Haaland means not just talking about one player, but also about a complete team that attacks and has lots of ideas... Our game plan isn’t just to stop Haaland, but rather to stop a team that seems unstoppable. But I think it’s possible for us. We can win.”
Haaland Set to Pocket £5million
Erling Haaland is in line to pocket a huge £5million jackpot in bonuses if he helps Manchester City win the treble this season, Sports Brief reported earlier.
City are on course to secure a historic treble under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, with the club in the race to lift the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
The Citizens have been in incredible form and are currently topping the charts with 82 points, four points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
