Football legend Diego Maradona should be turning for joy in his grave last night after Napoli confirmed their status as Italian Serie A champions for the 2022/23 season.
A draw was required away at Udinese, and it looked like the party would be postponed again after the home team took the lead in the 13th minute.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen responded with a bullet shot from inside the box in the second half to help secure a draw for the Partenopei and deliver the title.
Maradona won the first two titles for Napoli, the last of which came in 1990. He never witnessed the club lift another before he unfortunately passed away at 60, on November 25, 2020, according to ESPN.

Two of his biggest dreams after his retirement never happened again in his lifetime - to see Argentina win the World Cup and see Napoli win the Scudetto; both have happened in the last six months.
According to Football Italia, the Instagram account of the late legend sent a tribute to Napoli players - a picture of Maradona and the last names of the squad, including head coach Luciano Spalletti was accompanied by a caption.
“A new date to remember, a new joy for the city, for the people, for history. Thank you to all of you guys! FORZA NAPOLI.” the caption on Instagram reads.
