Harry Kane has reportedly been given sweeping powers by Tottenham Hotspur, in a bid to scuttle attempts by Manchester United or any other club to sign him in the summer.

United are among the leading candidates for the Three Lions captain as they seek to partner him with his international compatriot, Marcus Rashford.

Kane has one more year left on his contract and speculation has always been rife that he needs to move to a 'more ambitious' club. Despite being one of the most lethal strikers of his generation, he has no trophy to show for it.

Understandably, Spurs CEO, Daniel Levy wants to hold on to Kane, in the past denying him a move when Manchester City came knocking back in 2021.

By handing Kane a voice in the decision, Spurs will be looking to convince him to stay on.

Paris Saint-Germain pulled a similar tactic last summer when they increased Mbappe's influence in the decisions made at the club. The Frenchman was poised to leave for Real Madrid on a free transfer.

As the Kane talk continues, the Telegraph reports that Erik ten Hag is keen on getting Rashford on a long-term deal which could see him become the club's best-paid player.

Man United are also said to be 'seriously working on getting Kane' as the Red Devils' Dutch manager looks for an accomplished number 9 after the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo.
