Ghanaian defender, Daniel Amartey has reportedly agreed a deal to join Italian giants, AC Milan in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old's contract with Premier League side, Leicester City ends in June and the centre-back is set for a move away from the King Power Stadium.

Amartey remains one of two members of the Foxes team that shockingly won the English Premier League in 2016, alongside Jamie Vardy.

According to the Leicester Mercury, the Ghanaian international has agreed to join AC Milan for free in the summer transfer window.

Amartey has struggled with game time this season and under interim manager, Dean Smith, he is yet to make an appearance in the league.

He has made 24 appearances across all competitions for Leicester City this season, per TransferMarket. The Foxes are fighting relegation after a poor campaign which has seen them drop to 16th on the table.

Amartey arrived in England in 2016 and has won the Premier League title as well as the FA Cup with Leicester City.

He is also reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Turkey.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Ghanaian international, Amartey featuring for Leicester City as they pipped Leeds United 1-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The 27-year-old defender inspired the Foxes to record their first victory at home in 2022 and only their second back-to-back win in the Premier League this season.

Ghana defender, Amartey touched down in England to begin the pre-season with last season's English FA Cup winners, Leicester City.

Sports Brief reported on the 26-year-old centre-back reporting to camp in July 2021 as the 2016 Premier League champions prepared.
