Nigeria's Golden Eaglets on Wednesday evening, 3 May, suffered their first defeat at the ongoing 2023 African Under 17 Championship losing 1-0 against Morocco in a tough match in Constantine.

Having won their first game in the competition against Zambia, Nduka Ugbade and his wards were expected to shine against the Moroccans, but they were unable to soar in the encounter.

However, the Golden Eaglets did not start the game impressively with Jeremiah Olaleke having the chance to give Nigeria the lead in the early minute, but he was unable to find the back of the net.

One minute later, Nigeria conceded via an own goal from Tochukwu Joseph Ogboji.

After taking the lead, Moroccan players then changed their style of play and were looking for more chances to find the back of the net.

Did the Golden Eaglets come back?

The Nigerian players tried all they could in the second half to restore parity, but all their efforts were futile.

As things stand now, the Golden Eaglets will face South Africa in their final group game on Saturday, 6 May, and they must avoid a defeat.

Nigerian Stars spotted running commentary

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how football fans on social media have been left amazed at a video of two Nigerian men competing in an open commentary competition, providing live coverage in two foreign languages.

Running commentary in football is a job best left to the experts, who are always up to date with facts and figures on the games they are covering - whether on television or on the radio.

The legendary Hameed Adio and Ernest Okonkon are also names many people were familiarised with back in the 90s.

Koboko appeared with Doctor Laugh and Donald Kimmich, asking them to compete for a price of 10,000 Naira.
