Vinicius Junior gets kicked around like Brazil icon, Pele and Argentina legend, Diego Maradona, according to Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
Vinicius has been one of the key creators for Los Blancos in recent years.
The electrifying Brazilian winger takes on defenders consistently and attempts to dribble past them to score or set up goals.
However, the 22-year-old has also been targeted by rivals, getting frequently fouled and kicked due to his ability to outwit his opposition.
Vinicius has also endured numerous racial abuse incidents involving opposing team supporters this season.
As quoted by Diario AS, via Football Espana, Ancelotti spoke about his Brazilian star and the rough treatment he continues to receive.
"On the one hand, there is what happens on the pitch and on the other, off it. Off it, it is bad for society, to still have racism… a modern society cannot be like that. And on the pitch, the truth is that the players kick him lots, it’s obvious. Maradona or Pele were also kicked a lot, unfortunately."
Vinicius Junior has been in prolific form this season despite all the fouls and abuse.
The number 20 jersey star has notched 22 goals and registered 19 assists in 48 outings across competitions for Real Madrid.
