  • Cesc Fabregas has blasted Chelsea's tactics under caretaker manager Frank Lampard
  • Lampard's side suffered another loss, going down to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium
  • Fabregas played for both clubs but enjoyed more success with the blue side of London

Chelsea and Arsenal legend, Cesc Fabregas gave a detailed and honest assessment of the state of the two clubs after their clash on May 2.

Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-2 to return to winning ways after a run that had seen them drop points in their last four games. Chelsea, meanwhile, recorded their sixth consecutive loss under caretaker boss, Frank Lampard.

The defeat was catastrophic at best, but that has been the story of Chelsea's season so far.

Fabregas is among the many players who turned out for both clubs. His spell at Chelsea was more in terms of trophies, despite being one of the youngest captains in Arsenal's history, per BleacherReport.

Fabregas passes Lampard verdict

Fabregas tore into Lampard's tactics, saying it was hard to believe the tactical and technical mistakes he was witnessing.

The club legend found it hard to conjure up something on the pitch, with Chelsea looking clueless for large periods of the game as Arsenal basically played in their half.

"I felt sometimes Chelsea; we used to have a coach when we were little and it was like we have eleven olives, you throw them on the table, and this is the tactics that sometimes we’re looking at."

The 35-year-old then spoke about individuals, picking out veteran defender, Thiago Silva and Enzo Fernandez, among others.

"We are not used to it, especially from individuals. In midfield, for example, you have a World Cup winner, World Cup winner, World Cup finalist. In defence, you have the captain of Brazil, an international English player at left-back; it’s such an experienced team. Sometimes it doesn’t prove anything to have that experience," he said, as quoted by the Mirror.

The onus will be on Chelsea's next head coach, presumably Mauricio Pochettino, to pick the side up and reset ahead of next season.

The embattled Blues have four games remaining, with three of them against teams in the top four.

Arsenal fans' revenge on Mudryk

At the same time, Sports Brief reported on Arsenal fans getting revenge on Mykhailo Mudryk after the transfer saga involving the player and the two clubs in January.

The Ukrainian came on in the 71st minute of the Premier League clash with the scores already 3-1 and could do little to undo the damage dealt by the Gunners.

A first-half brace from Martin Odegaard and a goalmouth shot from Gabriel Jesus gave Arsenal a first-half lead, with Noni Madueke's second-half goal a consolation.
