  • Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-1 in the London derby to pile more misery on the struggling Blues
  • Three first-half goals from the Gunners did the job with their rivals scoring a consolation
  • Gunners fans targeted Mykhailo Mudryk who ditched the club to instead sign for Chelsea

Arsenal fans partially avenged the snub by Chelsea winger, Mykhailo Mudryk, after the transfer saga involving the player and the two clubs in the January transfer window.

The Ukrainian came on in the 71st minute with the scores already 3-1 but could do very little to help his team undo the damage already done by the table-toppers.

A first-half brace from captain, Martin Odegaard and a goalmouth scramble shot from Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus gave Arsenal a first-half lead, with the Blues' Noni Madueke scoring a consolation in the second half.

Mudryk's 19 minutes on the pitch were not easy, as it was his first contact with Arsenal fans since his £88 million move to West London, despite weeks of romanticising the North Londoners, according to Mirror UK.

Mudryk targeted with laser lights

As picked up by a Sky Sports camera, the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger had green laser lights pointed at his eyes to disturb him during the game.

This is an illegal act by supporters, who likely see it as a clap-back for choosing their rivals despite weeks of public displays of affection for the Red side of London.

Mudryk came out of the game with nothing but cannot be faulted. According to Mozo Football, he created three chances - more than any other player on both sides.

Chelsea striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who returned to his former club for the second time this season, was worse off, having just nine touches of the ball before he was hooked off at half-time for German forward, Kai Havertz.

Mudryk responds to Arsenal fans

In response to the fans' actions, Mudryk uploaded a photo on Instagram and sent a cheeky message to the fans, suggesting there was no love lost from his side.

Shakhtar Donetsk's message to Chelsea

Sports Brief also reported on Shakhtar Donetsk director, Darijo Srna sending a message to Chelsea fans over the signing of Mudryk for £88 mil in January.

He told Blues fans they had signed the best player but needed to exercise patience with him, calling him 'next' after Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius in his position.
