Chelsea wanted Mourinho

It has now emerged that Chelsea were looking to have Mourinho for the third time at Stamford Bridge amid their search for Graham Potter's successor.

The Blues are currently in the market for a substantive manager to replace Potter, who was recently shown the door after just seven months at the helm.

According to The Mirror, an unnamed Chelsea director contacted Mourinho to gauge his interest in a potential return to Stamford Bridge.

However, Football Italia claims the Roma boss rebuffed the attempts, with the Portuguese allegedly making it clear that he had no interest in a third spell at Chelsea.

The development comes at a time the 2021 Champions League winners are said to be closing in on a deal to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their next boss.

When Mourinho cried after defeat

Sports Brief has also reported that Mourinho has only ever cried once in his managerial career.

The legendary Portuguese boss has enjoyed highs and lows throughout his illustrious career that has seen him take charge of some of the world's best teams.

The Portuguese tactician revealed he has cried only once after a defeat in his managerial career. This was back in 2012 when he watched his side crash out of the UEFA Champions League in the semi-final stage.
