Paris Saint Germain Show Interest in Signing Nigerian Striker Who Has Netted 18 Goals This Term

Following his impressive outing so far this season for Ligue 1 club, Reims, where he is playing on loan from Arsenal, Paris Saint-German chiefs are reportedly interested in the signing of Nigerian eligible forward Folarin Balogun.

Initially, there have been reports that PSG are also interested in signing Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen who is also wanted by Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Over the years, PSG have been looking for ways to win the Champions League which has however been hard for them despite having the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

According to a report on Complete Sports, PSG are now shifting their attention to Balogun as they feel the 21-year-old can help them in their quest to conquer Europe.

Folarin Balogun's goals this term

The 21-year-old of Nigerian descent whose loan deal ends at the end of the 2022/23 season, has scored 18 goals in 31 league appearances.

Balogun is in fourth spot in the race for the top scorer award and is five goals shy of Mbappe who has registered 23 goals.

Messi's contract at PSG will be expiring in the summer and there have been speculation that he could return to Barcelona.

United States want Balogun

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how people in charge of the United States football have been urged to hijack Folarin Balogun from Nigeria and England by giving him invitation into the national team.

This is as a result of Balogun's impressive performances so far this season in the Ligue 1 where he has scored 18 goals for Reims, and he is ahead the likes of Messi and Neymar.

Despite him not playing for the top four teams in France, the striker keeps firing the goals for his side who are 11th on the standings.
