Antoine Griezmann is playing some of his best football this season, and his performances come as no surprise to some of his teammates.
Argentinian midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul recently commented on Griezmann’s style of play, comparing it to an Argentinian great.
As noted by PSG Talk, de Paul pointed out there were a lot of similarities between Griezmann and Lionel Messi.
“They play similarly. They play almost in the same position, free from the forwards. They are the ones that command the attack, and in that sense, in terms of position, they are very similar, yes,” he said.

Griezmann’s successful return
The French attacker returned to Atleti from Barcelona and is enjoying a fantastic season with the Madrid outfit.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Griezmann has played 41 games in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and notching 13 assists so far.
The Les Bleus star also leads the way when it comes to assists in La Liga, proving how valuable he is for the team.
His contract with the side only expires in 2026, and Atletico Madrid would hope he continues his impressive performances this season as they chase a Champions League qualification spot.
Atleti are just two points behind second-placed Real Madrid with six games to go in the season. Barcelona hold an 11-point lead over their fierce rival and are 13 points ahead of Diego Simeone's side in La Liga.
