5 important things Arsenal must do to win the Premier League
FootballEverything that Needs to Happen for Liverpool to Qualify for Champions League Next Season
- Liverpool are up to fifth on the Premier League log thanks to a dramatic win over Tottenham
- However, the Reds have their work cut out for them to still qualify for the Champions League
- At the moment, Newcastle and Manchester United are better placed for a top-four EPL finish
Liverpool’s faint hopes of Champions League qualification were boosted on April 30 thanks to a dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
It was a win that summed up the Reds’ form in recent weeks, as they have turned the corner in recent weeks to find a winning formula once again.
A run of four wins and a draw in their last five games has put Jurgen Klopp’s side fifth with 56 points, two ahead of Spurs, who have played a game more.
The fact that Liverpool have displaced an out-of-sorts Tottenham side from fifth place, despite the fact that Spurs looked like a formidable top-four contender earlier in the year, goes to show the unpredictable nature of football.

Liverpool’s next fixtures
While Liverpool are in good form, Champions League football heavily relies on either Newcastle or Manchester United faltering in their remaining fixtures.
For now, the Reds can only hope to win their remaining five matches against Fulham (home), Brentford (home), Leicester City (away), Aston Villa (home) and Southampton (away).
While these are certainly winnable games, Klopp was the first to admit after the Tottenham game that a top-four finish was probably a tall order.
“If United and Newcastle win all the games then how can we get there? If they start losing them, we are close. Until then, we have to win football games to qualify for Europe at all," Klopp said, as quoted by Football365.
The German tactician also commended Brighton and Villa on their recent form.

Football“Brighton played one of the best football games this weekend I’ve ever seen in my life; I have to say, Roberto De Zerbi, wow. They are behind us with two games in hand. Aston Villa are developing. If we can keep them behind us, that will already be a success.”
How Liverpool can end top-four
For Liverpool to make a dramatic finish inside the top four of the EPL this season, one of two scenarios will need to happen.
Firstly, Man United will have to drop at least six points from their remaining fixtures against Brighton (away), West Ham (away), Wolves (home), Bournemouth (away), Chelsea (home), and Fulham (home).
Erik ten Hag’s men have shown some vulnerability at times this season, especially in away games against teams in the top half of the table, so it is likely a point or two will be dropped between now and the end of the season.

FootballFor Newcastle, they are in free-scoring form and have five fixtures remaining. Since they are nine points ahead of Liverpool with the same number of games played, the Magpies would have to lose a minimum of three games.
Their remaining opponents are Arsenal (home), Leeds United (away), Brighton (home), Leicester City (home), and Chelsea (away).
Jota escapes red card
Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on how Diogo Jota escaped a red card after a high challenge that bloodied a Tottenham player.
The Reds forward left Spurs midfielder, Oliver Skipp bloodied with a boot that caught the player in the face and led to his substitution.
Jota came away with just a yellow card for his reckless actions, much to the outrage of fans and interim Spurs coach, Ryan Mason.
