At 15 years, 9 months and 16 days, a new prodigy has been presented to the world of football. Lamine Yamal became the youngest ever debutant for Spanish giants Barcelona in La Liga.
The teen sensation was handed his debut by manager Xavi Hernandez in the game against Real Betis on Saturday night at the Camp Nou.
Yamal replaced Gavi with seven minutes remaining, and the little show he put on display has got many talking with some pronouncing a bright future for the youngster.
But who is Lamine Yamal?
Lamine Yamal was born to a Moroccan father and an Equatoguinean mother in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain. Yamal was quickly enrolled in the famous Barcelona Academy, La Masia, after showing great footballing potential at a very young age.
And during his team with La Masia, the young Spanish-Moroccan was miles ahead of his peers. This forced manager Xavi to invite him to first team training.
In September 2022, he started training with the senior side, before Xavi decided to include him in the squad in April 2023.
Last night, Yamal made history by becoming the club's youngest ever debutant.
International career options
Even though Yamal was born in Spain, he remains eligible to play for Morocco, Equatorial Guinea and La Furia Roja.
At just 15, he is a youth international for Spain, playing for the U15, U16, U17 and the U19's.
With his enormous talent, it wont be that long that these three countries will be fighting for his allegiance.
However, Spain are in pole position to secure the services of the talented winger at senior level.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported that everyone felt old after 15-year-old Lamine Yamal debuted for Barcelona as they beat 10-man Real Betis to move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.
The Blaugrana defeated Los Verdiblancos 4-0 thanks to goals from Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and an own goal from Guido Rodriguez.
This victory came after the Catalan giant's shocking loss to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
