  • Sadio Mane has failed to hit the right strings since he joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022
  • The Senegalese winger was signed as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona
  • Chelsea are said to be eyeing a possible summer move for the Senegalese that would see him return to the EPL

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane has been linked with a sensational return to the Premier League with Chelsea after just one year away.

Mane left the English top flight in the summer of 2022 when he dumped the Reds to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

However, his Bayern spell has not gone according to plan, with the Senegalese ace struggling to live up to his billing.

The publication adds that Mane's early days at Bayern were positive, as he scored five goals in his first six appearances.

However, the goals quickly dried up as the Senegal international hit a rough patch in the subsequent weeks and even months, courting widespread criticism.

Chelsea linked with Mane move

It now appears Chelsea could hand the former Southampton winger a new lease of life - away from his Bayern Munich nightmare.

Sportbible reports that the Blues are seemingly willing to overlook the winger's struggles in Germany and sign him in the summer.

The development comes at a time the Blues have endured their fair share of struggles, with the west Londoners suffering five straight defeats since the arrival of Frank Lampard, who took charge in an interim capacity.

The striking department has been singled out for reinforcement, and Stamford Bridge chiefs contend Mane can add more firepower.

Mane's most successful football career came at Anfield, where he scored an eyewatering 120 goals in 269 games across competitions.

Mane donates rice to hometown

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mane donating to his hometown of Bambali, gifting residents with bags of rice to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan.

The Senegalese international, who is a devout Muslim, joined many others believers around the globe to observe the Islamic month of fasting with generosity.

As part of his efforts to ensure the less-privileged took part in the activities of the month, the Bayern Munich star distributed bags of rice to each household.
