Everyone felt old after 15-year-old Lamine Yamal debuted for Barcelona as they beat 10-man Real Betis to move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.

The Blaugrana defeated Los Verdiblancos 4-0 thanks to goals from Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and an own goal from Guido Rodriguez.

This victory came after the Catalan giant's shocking loss to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.

The academy product, who turns 16 in July, was brought on in the 84th minute to replace Gavi.

At 15 years and 285 days old, Yamal, who is a graduate of the club's famous La Masia academy, is the youngest player to ever feature for Barcelona in LaLiga courtesy of his brief cameo on Saturday night.

He nearly scored shortly after taking coming on to commemorate his debut in style.

In the 89 minute, Yamal threaded through a glorious defence-splitting pass with his wand of a left foot and a better touch from Ousmane Dembele would have surely delivered a fifth goal.

Yamal hasn't even signed a professional contract with Barca because he's still so young, but he will be able to do so as soon as he turns 16 in July.

How Barca defeated Real Betis

Sports Brief earlier reported that Barcelona thrashed 10-man Real Betis 4-0 on Saturday to move a step closer to winning La Liga for the first time since 2019.

Edgar Gonzalez's early dismissal made it an easy night for Xavi Hernandez's side to protect their lead with six games remaining.

With his side comfortably winning, Xavi brought on 15-year-old forward Lamine Yamal to become the club's youngest-ever player to debut in La Liga.
