  • Alexander Isak made a summer switch to Newcastle from Real Sociedad for a club record
  • The Swede has been on fire for Eddie Howe's men after battling an injury in his first months
  • He produced a potential assist of the season last night against Everton with mesmerising dribbles

Alexander Isak is showing no signs of stopping with his form for Newcastle United after overcoming an injury in his first months at the club.

The Sweden international scored twice in the 6-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, with both goals coming within seconds of each other, one from a brilliant Joe Willock assist.

Even though he did not get on the scoresheet, he once again stepped up in the 4-1 rout of relegation battlers Everton despite only playing less than 20 minutes.

Isak tears apart Everton's defence

The former Borussia Dortmund forward got the ball on the halfway line down the left wing and took on everything blue in his path, destroying Everton's right side on the goal line before squaring it for Jacob Murphy to make it 4-1.

The goal wrapped up a comprehensive victory that moved Newcastle to third, level on points with Manchester United, who have a game at hand.

Willock produced Modric-like pass

Isak's assist repaid the favour he got from Joe Willock at the weekend after the former Arsenal star sent an outside-of-the-boot cross-field pass to him against Tottenham.

The former AIK star described the pass as rare, claiming he had only seen it done by legendary midfielder Luka Modric, as reported by Athletic UK.

Isak in disbelief against Tottenham

Sports Brief reported that Isak was in disbelief at the scoreline during Newcastle's rout of Tottenham at St James Park on Sunday.

The tall striker scored his second and his team's fifth in the 21st minute and looked in disbelief as to what was happening before wheeling away in celebration.
