Manchester United coach Benni McCarthy has been a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford this season, having joined as Erik Ten Hag's forward coach, and his latest social media post says it all about the relationship the pair have.
The former Blackburn Rovers and Bafana Bafana striker has been tasked with improving the forwards at United and has specifically been credited with playing a huge part in Marcus Rashford's remarkable turnaround this season, highlighting the big role he has at the club.
The South African was at Wembley as United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties to set up a Manchester derby in the final, but despite his striking unit being unable to find a way past Robert Sanchez over 120 minutes he was clearly jubilant as Victor Lindelof scored the winning spot-kick to send the United supporters into raptures. McCarthy took to his Instagram story to share Ten Hag’s reaction to the penalty in a side-by-side video of the Dutchman shouting in joy before being joined by his coaching staff.
