Andersen's intervention saw the ball hit the crossbar and bounce over the line for an own goal.
While the incident would have required goal-line technology to verify the goal, this was not the case, as the ball hit Andersen again to cross the line for a second time.
Luckily for the Denmark international, his own goal counted as just one instead of two.
How Wolves vs Palace played out
Meanwhile, efforts by Palace to restore parity proved futile as the hosts held on to the lead for the better part of the match.
According to Sky Sports, Ruben Neves extinguished the visitors' hopes of equalising as he doubled Wolves' advantage at stoppage time to inspire his side to victory.
The hosts' win now has them sitting nine points off the relegation zone with 37 points, on level with the Eagles, who are above them on goal difference.
