FootballJose Mourinho Aims Brutal Dig at Sarri Again After Roma's Defeat to Atalanta
- Jose Mourinho proved once again there was no love lost between himself and Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri
- The Roma boss took a brutal dig at Sarri, whose Lazio is the biggest threat in their quest to qualify for the Champions League
- Roma are currently juggling the Europa League and Serie A, with hopes to achieve their objectives in both competitions
AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho could not help himself once again as he took a sly dig at his counterpart Maurizio Sarri, who is currently managing Lazio.
The two Rome-based teams are currently embroiled in an intense race for a top-four finish with only a handful of Serie A games to go.
Lazio are currently second on the log with 61 points, with Roma trailing in fifth place, five points adrift.
To be fair to Jose Mourinho’s side, they were inside the top four, but that changed after Juventus’ point reduction was reversed, which effectively meant the Old Lady had their 15-points restored.

Regardless, the Giallorossi are still well placed to qualify for the Champions League as they are only behind fourth-placed Milan on goal difference.
Roma’s setback vs Atalanta
In their latest game, Roma succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to Atalanta, which can be seen as a minor setback for Mourinho’s side, who beat Feyenoord in the Europa League just three days ago.
In his post-match press conference, Mourinho did brilliantly to deflect attention from the defeat in typical Mourinho fashion by highlighting Lazio’s exit from the Europa League, as reported on Express Sport.
“Maybe a defeat against Feyenoord would have been better to fight until the end to get into the top four. But I’m not used to choosing between Europe and the league," The Portuguese gaffer said as quoted on,

Mourinho is no stranger to sensational sentiments. He also recently suggested his Roma players were not at the level of some players he previously managed at clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Mourinho’s confrontation with Feyenoord boss
Sports Brief also reported on an incident during the Roma-Feyenoord game where the two managers were involved in a mini-spat.
The two sides met in the final of the inaugural UEFA Conference League last year, where a Nicolo Zaniolo strike ensured Mourinho continued with his impeccable record in cup finals.
Feyenoord had hoped to exact their revenge over Roma this year, only for Mourinho to better them once again. Before the game, Slot had indicated that he prefers to watch Napoli or Manchester City games compared to Roma's games.
The comment did not go down well with Mourinho, who is seen in video footage chasing down Slot in the tunnel, demanding to be respected.
