Carlo Ancelotti has revealed he has no issues if Lionel Messi returns to Barcelona after he was asked about the possible return of the Argentine superstar to Camp Nou.

Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer, and both parties look keen on not renewing the deal beyond the current campaign.

The Argentine superstar is a cult hero at Barcelona, and the club’s fans have been highly anticipating his return to the team, where he spent 17 seasons before joining PSG in 2021.

According to PSG Talk, Ancelotti appeared unbothered after he was quizzed about Messi’s possible return to La Blaugrana, saying both parties were free to do as they please.

The seasoned veteran, who won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona four times remains the Catalan club’s all-time record goal-scorer with 672 goals.

Meanwhile, Messi travelled with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo and their children to Barcelona, which has once again sparked speculation about his future, Marca reports.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward and his family surprised everyone when they arrived at the El Prat airport on Saturday, according to journalist, Gerard Romero.

Messi and his family landed in Barcelona with 15 suitcases and were met by his lifelong bodyguard and advisor, Pepe Costa, who was waiting on their arrival in Spain.

Sports Brief also reported on Messi cycling in Spain through the streets of a local neighbourhood, leading many to believe he was closing in on a return to Barcelona.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was spotted cycling back to his home, where some fans waited to try and get autographs from the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Many believe Messi is back in Spain amid a return to Barcelona, with the Argentine out of contract at PSG at the end of the term and reportedly yet to agree on a new deal.
